Action Stations Onboard Experience
Action Stations is an immersive interactive experience onboard the HMAS Vampire and the HMAS Onslow at the Australian National Maritime Museum.
Mod won the tender to design and build the onboard experience, spanning 41 locations across the two vessels moored in Darling Harbour, using our production platform Rack&Pin.
Mod developed a new augmented set design process for Action Stations, allowing visitors to interact with audio, visuals and lighting, without obvious screens or buttons, which showcased the unique environments and the sensitive use of sets and props that our team provided. On Vampire, a magic realism experience is evoked through combining graphic novel panels, interactive sound and visuals, whimsical props and sensors that allow visitor movement to trigger changes. The experience highlights the work and experiences of the many people who served onboard. The experience onboard Onslow is inspired by the high tension 60s-70s cold war era. As visitors move through the claustrophobic interior, they are given a mission featuring sound and lighting that triggers in response to noise, highlighting the need for silence during operations.
A creative collaboration with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, ACO Virtual is a world-first interactive video experience.View project >
